It would be a fascinating study. I wonder why they are not more commonly seen, and why not? Why are they seemingly "hidden"? And indeed, how much more is there that we humans don't even know about?Kartotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13289357362045137642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9388641.post-23900172647393543752009-04-05T10:24:00.000-05:002009-04-05T10:24:00.000-05:00You might not digg this kind of musictheres the gr...You might not digg this kind of music
theres the green
and the white

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu684V2lB3Q&NR=1dudiviehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06722293949978913107noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9388641.post-45581620072324710782009-04-05T05:41:00.000-05:002009-04-05T05:41:00.000-05:00I'm from the northern Okanagan Valley, in the inte...I'm from the northern Okanagan Valley, in the interior of British Columbia. The most popular native creature around here is the serpentine lake monster, the Ogopogo - to be found on mugs, t-shirts and in stuffed animal form at many local Canadiana gift shops.

A lesser known creature is called the "joker". It's been described to me by native friends as a diminutive, monkey-like water/tree spirit, largely spotted by children, near creeks and rivers.

I suppose my comment would be: there seems to be a wealth of 'mythological' information in North American native cultures. Has anyone done an exhaustive survey of such beings? And furthermore, and more dramatically, how much of this mythology has been lost, or remains hidden?Justinhttp://www.riotfish.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9388641.post-38450040522759092572009-04-01T10:10:00.000-05:002009-04-01T10:10:00.000-05:00http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yg7-AhV4gIFairies ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yg7-AhV4gI

Fairies like those.
