How do you know the figure is "coming out" of the bird?
Maybe it's the other way around: maybe it's the representation of a shaman being eaten by a bird-like spirit, in order to being reborn in the egg that the same bird is laying. The bird is the catalyst from which the shaman enters a new state of being.
